Chai & Miso Festive Spirit

Here’s the recipe for a new cocktail I have concocted which incorporates the seasonal favourite: Advocaat! If you try it, let me know what you think! xx

Ingredients | 1 serving

  • 50ml Vodka

  • 50ml Chai Tea (not traditional Chai with milk, a Chai teabag steeped in boiling water)

  • 25ml Advocaat

  • 2 tsps of maple syrup

  • 1 tsp of honey

  • 1/2 tsp of white miso

  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence

    Garnish:

  • 1 tsp of brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp (approx) of honey for rim

Method:

Step 1: Steep your Chai tea bag in a boiling water and set aside for 10 - 15 minutes (I use the Pukka branded one).

Step 2: Prepare your glass and garnish by rimming the glass with honey followed by a mixture of brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Use the honey sparingly for the rim as it will drip and you will have a sticky mess on your hands- literally!

Step 3: In a separate mug, add the miso, vanilla essence, maple syrup and honey and whisk together (I like to use my hand-held electric milk frother to ensure it’s super blended!)

Step 4: Once these ingredients have been blended together and are nice and smooth, add in the 50ml of Chai tea and whisk again till everything is incorporated.

Step 5: Add the liquid mixture to a cocktail shaker with Vodka, Advocaat and ice. Shake very well till the cocktail shaker is freezing cold to touch.

Step 6: Strain and serve in your prepared martini glass.

Optional: serve with a cinnamon stick.
